This adapter will allow your customers with Early Shovelheads that have Outer Primary Covers with NO Derby Cover and NO Chain Inspection Cover to use Outer Primary Covers WITH Derby Covers and Chain Inspection Covers
Look at it like this.  You have customers and there are a lot of Custom Bike Builders as well as individuals restoring the old iron that have Pre-1970 HD's and S&S Flatside Big Twin's that you cannot sell OEM or Aftermarket Outer Primary Covers to because they simply do not exist anymore.  They are no longer in production.  At times they find them used, scratched, welded and just plain beat up. BUT Then the ones they do find and the ONLY ones that fit properly over the starter shaft are the early style with no derby cover and no access to the clutch without removing the floorboard, shifter and rear exhaust then removing the whole Primary Cover! BE THEIR HERO and tell them you have the fix. THEN YOU can sell them this adapter, ANY new (1970 -1984) Outer Primary Cover, ANY Custom Derby Cover and ANY Custom Chain Inspection Plate!
How does this work? Quite simple in fact.  On 1965 - 1969 Big Twins just replace this one part on the end of the starter jackshaft - That's IT!  With this adapter the starter shaft now fits correctly into the NEWER style (1970 - 1984)  Outer Primary Covers. No Stacked-Up Starter Washers No Welding No Worries
Hence: Problem Solved - Customer Happy and all you had to do is add one small (RATHER INEXPENSIVE) part to your inventory
